made in japan.

i got this from my friend's garage sale almost 4 years ago. she was moving out from a huge house and having a gigantic garage sale. she told me that somebody gave this to her as a wedding gift years and years ago... and it's made in japan! she never used it, and after i bought it from her, i never used it either.
kitchen utencils are there to be used. they should be a part of this beautiful activity of cooking and eating; cooking is such an activitiy of sharing so many things with people. if the kitchen utencil doesn't get used, it should be let go to meet the right kitchen, the right table.

this is going to my friends who just moved to marfa, who love japan: mike and emily. i hope this will be used somehow in their kitchen...
